Jen Becker, L.Ac MSTOM, is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist and the founder and owner of Soho Acupuncture By Jen Becker. Jen received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Kinesiology. Studying the human body inspired a search for health and wellness that went beyond the Western perspective and led Jen to pursue her Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Health and Science and ultimately ignited her path to healing. It was during those four years of rigorous study working towards her Master’s that Jen’s adventurous nature led her to all three campuses of her acupuncture school—in Chicago, California, and lastly, in New York, where she resides today.
Jen has additional training in Five Element Acupuncture and pulse diagnosis. She completed a two-year post-graduate clinical integration mentorship learning The Inner Tradition of Five Element Acupuncture and Advanced Pulse Diagnosis with distinguished Five Element Practitioner, author and teacher, Lonny Jarrett. Immediately after graduating from Pacific College of Health and Science and receiving her acupuncture license, Jen started work at a fast- paced community acupuncture clinic in Brooklyn.
There, she honed her skills as a healer for 4 years, treating a wide array of health conditions and over 100 patients a week, all while building her private practice in Soho, which has now developed over the past 10 years into a thriving practice: Soho Acupuncture by Jen Becker.
In addition to Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Jen has a passion for nutrition and the use of food as medicine. She created the wellness blog, Shine Soul Bright, to share her love and knowledge of holistic health, lifestyle and beauty practices. Jen is passionate about guiding others in their journey to healing and feels fortunate to practice Chinese medicine, with its deep and ancient history, beautiful philosophy, and integration of the ebb and flow of nature with the human body.
In Jen’s free time away from the practice, she loves spending time in nature— especially hiking in the Catskill Mountains—being with her family, and continuing to learn and take classes in advanced Chinese medicine. Jen’s latest passion is learning the ancient art of Chinese Facial Diagnosis. Jen splits her time between Brooklyn and the Catskills with her husband and 1 year old daughter.

Arlen McClellan L.Ac D.T.C.M graduated summa cum laude with a Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the University of Bridgeport Acupuncture Institute in Connecticut. After finishing school and receiving her acupuncture license, Arlen trained under a fertility specialist in West Hartford, CT, where she absorbed as much knowledge as she could while also continuing to train within the sports medicine community, treating professional athletes and dancers. She now lives and works in NYC, where her work focuses on women’s health, hormone imbalances, supporting women coming off hormonal contraceptives, sleep disturbances, anxiety and sports medicine.
Arlen works one-on-one with patients to create a collaborative wellness and treatment plan. She is passionate about imparting her vast knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and holistic medicine to her patients, but she is equally passionate about allowing her patients to experience true listening as a path to healing.
Healing is literally in Arlen’s blood, as her family instilled a high regard for both physical and mental/spiritual health. Childhood memories include herb foraging walks with her family and hanging out at body movement workshops, as well as observing her mother practice acupressure and work with Chinese herbs. However, Arlen also dedicated several years to the study of microbiology and pre-med. It is this grounding in a mix of Eastern and Western techniques that gives Arlen a unique perspective and ability to “translate” between Western medicine and holistic and Eastern modalities. Arlen often helps her
patients communicate with primary care physicians if needed.
When Arlen isn’t helping her patients grow into their healthiest selves, she’s growing plants. She also brews batches of kombucha in her downtime, hikes with her partner, forages for mushrooms and connects with other wellness leaders across the country on panels, retreats and media events.
